This is the beautiful Maison Cauchie, which we just stumbled across after leaving the Military Museum.
Above, the Brussels-Central Railway Station - designed by Victor Horta.
In Ghent we visited the excellent Design Museum.
The Egmont statue took a bit of finding - we knew he was no longer in the Grand Place, but it turned out he wasn't quite in Egmont Park either, but in another park just across the way.
I also pointed the camera at a lot of street art.

Hehe. I love the public art where the legs are sticking out of the mouth. Made me chuckle. I think we've lost a bit of the idea of making public spaces beautiful here. Our spaces tend to be utilitarian and don't have the touches that make them unique.
What a great trip! Wonderful photos! Re your comment on my blog: yes, that colourful picture is a window in the Bergdof Goodman department store. They had 'clotheslines' hung with Barbie-sized clothes in front of and behind the mannequins. The image also caught the reflection of the buildings opposite. Thanks for visiting and commenting!
That was enjoyable! We'll be spending a couple of weeks in the Netherlands ourselves soon. Now I'm getting nervous/excited!
It's fantastic how you don't need to go to an exhibit to learn something about the city... the city itself is already dotted with all these architectural wonders and graffiti you can feast your eyes upon! Even the windows come in unique makes and styles!
I couldn't help but gasp in awe at these artful wonders in the streets of Belgium. Everything is art inspired and very renaissance-like. Every corner seems to have a little part of history and culture in it.
